Tour De France Cyclists Get Suited Up By Jeff Banks

Last month our flagship Jeff Banks Savile Row Store was pleased to welcome Tour De France cyclists Adam and Simon Yates. They made Tour De France history when they became the first British twins to ride in the race.

To celebrate, Jeff Banks personally measured the twins for two made to measure suits, the first they have ever owned for the after-tour party.Their very first suits were created in the Savile Row store.

In typical Jeff style, he welcomed and entertained the young twins. Jeff even asked them to choose three types of cloths separately to see which ones they would pick. Amazingly they both had chosen two of the same cloths!

In attendance Sky Sports, BBC, The Express and various other cycling magazines and newspapers covered the event.

By the end of the Tour De France Orca Greenedge finished with seven top-ten stage results with five to the Yates brothers.

Jeff Banks: Official Tailor of Yorkshire's Grand Départ

Following on from being the official tailor of the London 2012 Olympic Games Bid Committee, Jeff Banks has now been made official tailor of Yorkshire's Grand Départ. The Leeds-based team at the Welcome to Yorkshire offices, responsible for bringing the Tour de France to Yorkshire, have been kitted out with an official uniform that draws in aspects of Jeff's current collections. These outfits feature a unique twist to commemorate the tour and were measured up by Jeff himself, who is a ken cyclist and follower of the Tour de France.
Jeff Banks said: “It’s a great privilege to be a part of this momentous event. It is not every year that the world’s biggest cycle race comes to Yorkshire, so I’m delighted that Gary and his team at Welcome to Yorkshire have allowed me to be a part of what will be an amazing spectacle.

“I’ve taken inspiration from many aspects of the Tour, such as the yellow jersey. Yellow is the real colour of the Tour de France, and I think the uniform sums up English heritage but with a contemporary attitude."

Gary Verity, Chief Executive at Welcome to Yorkshire, said: “It is incredibly exciting to have someone of the calibre of Jeff Banks designing the official uniform for the team here at Welcome to Yorkshire. “It’s a wonderfully kind gesture, and we will all wear the uniform with pride when the Tour arrives in July.”

The Grand Départ of the Tour de France takes place in Yorkshire on the weekend of July 5 and 6. The first stage races from Leeds to Harrogate via the Yorkshire Dales and the second stage race from York to Sheffield. A third stage takes place on the July 7, racing from Cambridge to London.

On Friday 6th March, the Randolph Hotel in Oxford played host to the Spring Summer '14 Oxford Fashion Week’s Cosmopolitan Show. Attracting around 150 guests to see the eight brands being showcased in a journey of the imagination through a dreamland of candy pastels and cloudy whites before heading to a the chaotic, dark world of the nightmare which saw Jeff Banks suits take to the runway paired with Venetian style masks amongst the striking silhouettes.
